John Thomas Campbell, 67, formerly of Lynchburg and Appomattox, Va., died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at The Springs Nursing Center, Hot Springs after an extended illness. John was born in Appomattox, on May 25, 1948, the son of Virginia Almond Campbell of Appomattox and the late Guy W. Campbell.
He was educated in Appomattox County schools, a member of Sandusky Baptist Church, and retired from the Lynchburg Foundry. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Hendricks and Hazel Bohannon.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his son, John Brent Campbell (Julie); two grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Campbell and Harrison Guy Campbell all of Evington; and a sister, Cassie Presnell (Earl) of Farmville.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Gene Beverly. A private family burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
