Obituary

John Curtis (Jack) Caldwell, Jr., 76, of Lee-Grant Avenue, Appomattox, died Saturday evening October 10, 2015 at Runk & Pratt of Forest. He was the husband of Barbara Wooldridge Caldwell for 56 years.

Jack was born Richmond, Va January 29, 1939 a son of the late Bessie V. Harwood and John Curtis Caldwell. Sr. He was a 1962 graduate of VA Tech with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Jack was retired from GE/Ericsson and was the owner/operator of Appomattox Truck and Tractor. He was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as an elder, deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of Gideon's International and involved in Prison Fellowship Ministry for over 20 years.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by a daughter, Anne C. Watts and husband, Jeff of Gastonia, NC, two sons, John Randall Caldwell and wife, Nancy of Appomattox, Rev. William R. (Rick) Caldwell and wife, Karen of Farmville; seven grandchildren, Ginny Ferguson, Kalie Caldwell, Wilson Caldwell, Whitney Caldwell, John Mark Caldwell, Kayla Watts and Colby Watts; a brother, William Harwood (Bill) Caldwell and wife, Pamela of Richmond; two nephews, Chris Caldwell and wife, Laurie and Jeff Caldwell and wife, Melissa and a cousin, Elizabeth H. Robertson.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Runk & Pratt Memory Care Center of Forest for their excellent care and compassion.

Funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday October 13, 2015 at Liberty Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Rusty Small, Rev. Rick Caldwell, Dr. Willie Green and Wilson Caldwell. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Monday from 6:30 – 8pm and at other times at the residence.
