Joan Camille Moses Ranson, 67, of Rocks Church Road, Pamplin, died Sunday December 2, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Harry E. Ranson for over 45 years.
Joan was born in Lynchburg, VA a daughter of the late Ruby Martin Moses and Charles Thomas Moses, Jr. She was an active member of Rocks Baptist Church where she served as GA leader for many years. Joan was a Home Economics Graduate of Madison College and retired from School Pictures, Inc.
In addition to her husband, Harry, she is survived by two sisters, Linda Jo Mays and her husband, Monte; Janet Susan Moses and Liz King all of Appomattox; a brother Charles T. Moses, III and his wife Linda of Reston; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law that she considered her brothers and sisters, Louise R. Roach and Aulden, Mary Edith Morris and Glenn, Ruth R. Caldwell and Bill, Frank R. Ranson, and Michael E. Ranson and Betty; Aunt Joan's children were her nieces and nephews, Wade & Nicole Mays, Thomas Mays, Cindy & Bill Shorter, Debbie & Jimmy Lakes, Ken & Sarah Caldwell, Susan & Craig Smith, Patty & Randy Rimbey, Billy & Gina Caldwell, Amy Martin, Jennifer & Russel Walton, Otis Ranson and Amanda Ranson; great nieces and nephews, Angela & Robert Page, Jeremy & Kristin Lakes, Beverly & Stuart Vyule, William Shorter, Rachel Lakes, Kathryn Shorter, Earl Rimbey, Rebekah Shorter, Kayia DeVivo, Grayson Rimbey, Hannah Caldwell, Harry Caldwell, Jordan Camille Martin, Elijah DeVivo, Colleen Caldwell, Kendall Caldwell, Josey Walton, Leah Caldwell, Ethan Walton, Madeline Mays, and many other children that were not related but were very dear to Aunt Joan.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday December 5, 2012 in Rocks Baptist Church officiated by Dr. William Tomlinson.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
