Jimmie Thornsburry, 72, of Gladstone, VA, formerly of Loudoun County, VA was called home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2018.

Born December 16, 1945 in English, WV, he was the son of Jessie Thornsbury and Dixie Faye (Thornsbury) Sorrells. Jim was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country in the US Army from October 1965 - October 1968. He was a retired engineer working for Verizon from 1969-2002. He was also a member of the Appomattox VFW.

Jim was a husband, father, and proud "Pop Pop". He is survived by his wife of 52 years Joann (Mullins) Thornsburry, his daughter, Lisa Ann Sacchini and her husband Joseph John Sacchini of Aldie, VA, two grandsons Joseph Robert Sacchini of Reston, VA and Jimmie Tyler Sacchini of Aldie, VA, his mother Dixie Faye Sorrells of Lexington, VA, and two brothers Ralph Thornsbury (Brenda) of Wytheville, VA and Michael Thornsbury (Judi) of Princeton, WV, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Jessie, sister, Carol Sue and brother, Philip.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Liberty Chapel Baptist Church 4559 Liberty Chapel Rd in Appomattox, VA.

The Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
