Jerry Walker Hudson, 78, of Hundley Springs Road, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was the loving husband of Betty Wright Hudson for 55 years.

Born in Appomattox County, November 3, 1939 he was a son of the late Lillian Driskill and Lawrence Bascom Hudson. Jerry served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from R.R. Donnelley after 28 years of service. Jerry was a member of the NRA, and a founding member of Reedy Creek Hunting Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Russell Dwayne "R.D." Hudson and wife, Cathy and her daughter Megan; a daughter-in-law, Rita G. Hudson all of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Sandy Hudson and husband, Dennis "D.J." Suter, Staci Hudson and James R. Hudson and fiancé Lindsey Glover; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Wayne "Butch" Hudson; one grandson, Daniel Walker Hudson, one sister, Geneva White; seven brothers, Landon, Bascom, Mike, Ray, Irvin, Russell and Bill.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Martin and Rev. John Muth officiating. Burial will follow in Driskill family cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW#9855 combined honor guard.

The family will receive friends at his residence.
