Obituary

Jerry Wayne Franklin, 55, of Red House Road, Appomattox died Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Jerry was born in Lynchburg on October 13, 1955, a son of Isabelle Knight Franklin and the late Elmo Horace Franklin. He was a heavy equipment operator with W.W. Boxley for 35 years.
In addition to his Mother, he is survived by a son, Jason Franklin, and his girl friend, Brittany White; a daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Chris Goff; two brothers, David Franklin and Mark Franklin; four sisters and brother-in-laws, Cheryl and Paul Mullins, Holly and Larry Anthony all of Appomattox, Mary and Lonny Hamlet of Pamplin, and Pamela and Milton Kidd of Winginia; four grandchildren, Cheyenne, McKenna, Austyn, and Landon; his former wife, Carolyn Franklin; his companion, Verna Wood, both of Appomattox, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by a daughter, Shana Franklin and a brother, David Elmo Franklin.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2010 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home and other times at residence of his mother, Isabelle Franklin 2130 Double Bridges Road, Spout Spring or Carolyn Franklin, 131 Sandy Lane, Appomattox.
