Jeremiah Franklin Hamlett

Jeremiah Franklin Hamlett, 27, of Roanoke died January 19, at his home. Born May 8,1979 at Naval Regional Medical Center Camp Pendleton, California.
Jeremiah is survived by his parents Johnnie F. Hamlett of Phenix, Va.; Mary Ann High and step-father Derreke High of Appomattox; a fiancée' Melanie Montgomery of Glade Hill; a brother Joshua Hamlett of Farmville, and two step-brothers Justin and Jacob High of Rustburg; a grandmother Sarah Moore of Charlotte C.H.; aunts and uncles John and Darnell Harden of Marietta, Ga., David and Linda Moore of Charlotte C.H., and Howard and Deborah Hamlett of Phenix. Numerous cousins and many wonderful friends, including, his special little friend Kaitlyn Austin.
Jeremiah graduated from Randolph Henry High School in 1997. He was a member of the National Honor Society, the marching band, the jazz band, the basketball team, baseball team, and was co-captain of the golf team. After graduating high school, Jeremiah attended Southside Community College where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society, and graduated in 1999 with an Associates of Business Administration degree. He is also a May 2001 graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. Jeremiah was a CPA with the Western Va. Water Authority in Roanoke.
He was an avid golfer, basketball player, bowler, and kept updated on all sports with ESPN.
A special thank you to the Nursing Staff at Friendship Health and Rehab of Roanoke, and to the outstanding people in the Rehab department who weren't just therapists but great friends.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday January 22, 2007 in Midway Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, and Midway Baptist Building Fund.
Jeremiah was a beloved Son, Brother, Fiancée, and friend who will be greatly missed.
