Jeanene Mills Allen, 59, of Stone Ridge Rd., Concord, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Paul Edison Allen.
Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, October 1, 1948, she was the daughter of Garnett Arley Mills, Sr. and Jean Beaushaw Mills of Concord. Jeanene was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a teacher and Reading Specialist for 37 years and just recently retired.
In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Stephanie Allen of Concord; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally M. and Greg Tyree of Madison Heights and Dinah M. and Oscar Babb of the City of Franklin; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas (Tom) and Holly Mills of Madison Heights; a sister-in-law, Laura G. Mills of Concord; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Garnett A. Mills, Jr. and a nephew, Jeremy Tyree.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Thorne with burial following in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 6 – 8:00 pm and at other times at the residence.
