Jean Jennings Kress

Jean Jennings Kress, 94, of Pamplin, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Kress.

Born on October 23, 1931, in Appomattox County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Jennings and Louise Simmons Jennings. Jean was part-owner of R&K Grocery. She was a member of Elon Baptist Church.

She is survived by her godson, Todd Hipps and Cassandra and their children, Gibson Hipps and Madelyn Hipps Martin; “adopted family”, Randall Hipps and Tess, Gregory Hipps and Anna, and Kimberly Hipps Kress and Kenny; brother, Tony Mann; two nephews, Carey Falwell and Michael Neighbors; and niece, Sharon Hix and Jim.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn Falwell and Marie Neighbors.

A graveside service will be held 2pm, Friday, October 2, 2026, at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor John Monteith officiating.
