Obituary

Jean Marie (Godown) Hash, 72, of Promise Land Rd., Appomattox, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband James Wyatt Hash Sr. one year earlier.

Born in Lambertville, New Jersey on September 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Cripps and William O. Godown. She lived in New Jersey prior to relocating to Appomattox in 1970 when she and her husband Jim built their own home on the family property.

Jean loved being a mother and grandmother and enjoyed her "little ones" while she could. She was a voracious reader and lived to cook. Her "Killer" breakfasts were the talk of the table. She also enjoyed a good storytelling and visiting with friends and family.

She is survived by her children, one daughter, Bessiegaye Hash of Smithfield, Va and a son, James Wyatt Hash Jr. of Otis, OR.; a sister, Dorothy Hagans and husband Ken of Shinglehouse, Pa; two brothers, Butch Godown and wife Pat, and Charlie Godown and wife Carmella all of Lambertville, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Maryann Muehlbauer and husband Charles of Flemington, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Bryan Cullen and wife Heidi and Sammy Strunk of Smithfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Jean's wishes, in lieu of a funeral, there will be a memorial service in the spring to commemorate her life.

Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family and an online condolence may be sent by visiting www.robinsonfuneral.com.
