Evergreen - Jean Womack Carrico, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2019. She was the wife of the late Raymond Roscoe Carrico.

Born on May 1, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Eugenia Hodges and James C. Womack, Sr. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ryland Womack, James Womack, Jr. , Benny Womack, and Malcolm Womack and a sister, Christine Orange.

She is survived by three children, Michael Raymond Carrico and wife, Robin of Chesapeake, Donald Wayne Carrico, Sr. of Evergreen, and Shelia McElroy and husband, Vince of Brookneal; seven grandchildren, Christy Jean Torrence, Kristie Harvey, Dawn Jennings, Donald Carrico, Jr., Daniel Carrico, Clayton McElroy, and Jonathon McElroy; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jean was retired from Amelia Dress Garment Factory and a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. She loved flowers and took pride in her yard until Alzheimer's forced her to leave home. A special thanks to the staff at Babcock Manor for their loving care over the past few years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home with Reverend Reginal Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Immediately after the burial a time of fellowship will be held in the Evergreen Ruritan Building.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 and at other times at the home of her son, Donald Carrico.
