Jonathan Clyde Preas, 84, of Hill-N-Dale Drive, Lynchburg, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Preas for over 61 years.

Born in Evington, VA on February 13, 1934, he was a son of the late Lila Alton Mayberry and John Thomas Preas, Sr. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, retired from Babcock and Wilcox, and was a volunteer at the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center.

He is survived by two children a daughter, Linda Darnell Preas Parrish and husband, Larry of Portsmouth; a son, David Wayne Preas and wife, Alison of Suffolk; and a sister, Irene Preas Hall of Grit. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, Hoover, Jack, Jessie, and Naomi.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Chad Harris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home from 6 until 7:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
