Javier Tolentino-Martinez

Javier Tolentino-Martinez, 18, of Appomattox, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Born on February 8, 2007, in Chesterfield, VA he was the son of Francisco Tolentino-Martinez and Tabitha Atkins Tolentino-Martinez. Javier was a 2025 graduate of Appomattox County High School.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancée, Jai’Lynn King and his child who they were excitedly expecting in July; paternal grandfather Candelario Tolentino-Cuevas of Mexico; and maternal step grandmother, Anita Atkins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anna Maria Culler-Gross and Kenneth Edward Atkins, Sr.; and paternal grandmother, Benita Martinez-Barron.

Javier will be fondly remembered by many close friends, particularly Jayden Patrick, Jordan Jamerson, Justin Haskins, Kevyn Gutierrez, Bryanna Gutierrez, Braylen Abbitt, and Cai’Lynn Ferguson whom he considered siblings; Miriam Gutierrez, Yolanda Ferguson, and Amanda Patrick who loved him dearly and considered him one of their own; and his beloved dog, Gabby.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
