Janice Elaine “Mickie” Williams Spiggle, 76, of Appomattox, VA, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of Ronald Calvin Spiggle for 26 years.
Born in Bluefield, West VA, on September 2, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Lillie Easter Bledsoe and Walter Lee Williams, Sr.
Mickie was retired from Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office after 24 years of service as a Deputy Sheriff, Jailer, and Dispatcher. Mickie was strong, independent and found good in everyone.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Tina R. Tweedy and Mike and their children, Melanie, Jani, and Chelsea; two sons, Anthony G. “Tony” Russell and wife, Brooke, and their children, Violet and Fiona, and Todd L. Russell and wife, Kristen, and son, Wally; six great grandchildren, Drake, Laila, Zayne, Jesse, Kai, and Jay; two brothers, Walter L. Williams, Jr. and wife, Gayle, and David M. Williams and wife, Terrie; one sister, Melva Jean Peraldo and husband, Leo; one brother-in-law, Landon Perkins; three step-children, Terri Spiggle, Paul Spiggle and wife, Cynthia, and John Spiggle and wife, Audra and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Lee Cole, Wanda Sue Simpson, and Patsy Perkins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday, July 24, 2026, at Evergreen Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Todd Estes.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at Ronnie’s home, 2205 Trent Hatchery Rd., Appomattox,
