Janice Lorraine Kershner, 71, of Spring Mill Road, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Dwight "Jim" M. Kershner, Sr., for 53 wonderful years.

Born in Albemarle County, July 24, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Annie Pearl Sprouse and Leslie Henry Farish. Janice was a member of Jubilee Baptist Church of Concord. She loved to sing and praise the lord and enjoyed going to nursing homes and other churches to worship through music.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Dwight "Jim" M. Kershner, Jr., and wife, Julie M. of Concord; a daughter, Karen D. Rosser and husband, David of Madison Heights; one brother, Leslie William Farish of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren, Jessica N. Waller and fiancé Tim Lockard and Dwight "Jake" I. Jacobs; one great-granddaughter, Kyana N. Waller.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Farish and Richard Farish; three sisters, Josephine Kaler, Anna Mae Gilliam and Rose Marie Burke.

Funeral Services will be held 5:00p.m, Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Roger L. Childress officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
