Obituary
Pamplin: James Walter Rice Jr., 84, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the Woodlands in Farmville. He was the husband of Annie Huffman Rice.
Born in Pamplin, August 7, 1923, James was the son of James W. Rice Sr. and Eva Mae Bramblett Rice. He served his country during WW II as a member of the U.S. Army and retired from Norfolk &Western as a Signal Maintainer.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Philip Wayne and Patricia Hudson Rice; one grand daughter, Samantha Rice, Farmville, and one sister, Thelma Pauline Rice of Roanoke. He is preceded in death by three brothers.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007.
In lieu of flowers, the family request condolences are expressed by a contribution to the Pamplin Fire & EMS, PO Box 1116, Pamplin, VA 23958.
