James Gregory Pugh, 54, of Webb Mill Road, Appomattox died suddenly Thursday morning March 24, 2016 in Buckingham County. He was the husband of Sherri Repass Pugh.
Greg was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio December 21, 1961 a son of James Jennings (Jim) Pugh, Jr. of Madisonville and the late Judith Barnes Pugh. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Black Rock Hunt Club and was employed by Kyanite Mining as a Foreman. Greg served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy.
In addition to his wife and father, Greg is survived by two daughters, Amanda P. McCormick and husband Brandon and their daughter, Brooklynn Swanson McCormick; and R. Michelle Pugh and her daughter, Katie Elizabeth Shamblin all of Appomattox; two sisters, Gayle Judith Pugh Lev and husband, Mark of Lorton, Va, Jeanne Pugh Christensen and husband, Tyson of Raleigh, NC; step mother, Marjorie Pugh, Madisonville, two nieces, Hali Renee and Hanna Lynn Christensen; aunt, Jeanie Curlee and husband, Bill of Martinsville; uncle, Bill Pugh and wife, Dolly of Lynchburg.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Barnes Pugh.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Saturday March 26, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Ron Moore. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the church.
Burial will follow in the Webb Family Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and V.F.W. Post #9855 combined honor guard.
