Pamplin: James Thomas (Pete) Davis, Jr., 79, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Appomattox Co., July 31, 1926, he was a son of the late Wilsie P. and James T. Davis, Sr. Pete was a member of Pamplin United Methodist Church and had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he received two Bronze Stars.
He is survived by two brothers, Leroy Davis and his wife, Hazel of Hampton and Dennis Davis and his wife, Patsy of Newport News; his sister, Alice D. Doss and her husband, Garland of Appomattox; numerous nieces and nephews and a loving cousin, Sandra Varner of Pamplin.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2005, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Johnny Covington. Burial will follow in the Pamplin Community Cemetery with military rites provided by American Legion Post #104.
The family will receive friends at the home of Alice and Garland Doss.
