James Edward "Snooky" Jordan, Jr., 96, of Midgett Farm Road, Concord, died Friday, April 6, 2018 at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara Caldwell Jordan.

Born in Appomattox, November 6, 1921, he was a son of the late Gertrude Cardwell and James Edward Jordan, Sr. James was a lifetime member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He worked for Norfolk Western Railroad for 41.5 years. He was a member of Reedy Springs Masonic Lodge #203 A.F. & A. M. and Bent Rail Club. James served his country in the United States Army during WWII.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Caldwell Jordan and, Rebecca Revis of Lynchburg, and Larry Edward Jordan and wife, Penny of Appomattox; one daughter, Wanda Harris and husband, Earl of Spout Spring; four grandchildren, Angela Harris, Michael Harris and wife, Emily, Brooke Stephens and husband, Robbie and Ashley Jordan; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2018 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Dibble officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

The family will receive friends at his residence, Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10 a.m., until 3 p.m., Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1 until 5 p.m and one hour prior to the service.
