James Douglas "J.D." Mann, Sr., 69, of Appomattox, died Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Born in Lynchburg, January 20, 1954, he was a son of the late Alice Womack Mann and Louis Wiley Mann.

He is survived by his son, James Douglas "Jay" Mann, Jr., and wife, Mindy; four grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Lucas and Lillian; one brother, Earl Mann; sister-in-law, Ann Mann; his beloved friend, Cindy Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Alice Faye Mann Doss, Nora Mae Mann, Norma Kaye Newman and Bonnie Gaye Maxwell; and five brothers, Wiley, Jerry, Irvin, Willie and Lee Mann.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Concord Cemetery with Pastor Orville Gregory, Jr., officiating.
