Obituary

James Douglas "Jimmy" Hunter, 67, of Appomattox passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born on August 20, 1956, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late John Thomas Hunter, Sr. and Frances Snell Hunter. He was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. Jimmy worked as a supervisor at Thomasville Furniture for 34 years. He was a diehard fisherman and loved deer and turkey hunting.

He is survived by two children, Ann Pierce Bradshaw and husband, Josh and James Nathan Hunter and Kelsey; one brother, John T. Hunter, Jr. and wife, Debra; two sisters, Margaret H. Conner and husband, Lee, and Anne H. Dixon and husband, John all of Appomattox; and two grandchildren, Grayson and Keatyn.

He was preceded in death by a brother Frank E. "Frankie" Hunter.

A graveside service will be held 11am, Friday, March 22, 2024, at Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 5539 Wheelers Spring Rd, Appomattox, with Pastor Anthony Reeves officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
