James Leroy "Jim" Hudson, 76, of Pamplin, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his residence.  He was the loving husband of Susan Williams Hudson.

Born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, on September 23, 1946, he was a son of the late Georgine Grant and John Dumont Hudson.  Jim was a member of Elon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He proudly served with honor and distinction in the United States Army.  Jim was an avid freshwater and saltwater fisherman and huge Alabama football fan "Roll Tide".

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Brian Hudson and wife, Betsy of Lynchburg, Ken Hudson and wife, Jodie of Appomattox and Nikki H. Molina and husband, Sebastian of Pamplin; one sister, Wilma Jean Haupt and husband, Al of Satsuma, AL; one brother, Jerry Hudson and wife, Patti of Saraland, AL; and was "Papa Jim" to nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Hudson.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2023, at Elon Baptist Church with Pastor David Sexton officiating.  Burial will follow in Pamplin Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
