James Logan Hensley Sr.

James Logan Hensley Sr., 75, of Appomattox, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at his home. He was the loving husband of Barbara Jennings Hensley.

Born in Charlotte County, VA, on December 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Mildred Juanita Harris and Thomas Emery Hensley.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Jay Hensley, Jeanette Hensley and husband, Michael, and Shelton Hensley and wife, Kaitlin; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Betty Ann Keen and husband, Richard, Barbara Jane D’Allesandro and husband, Howard, Thomas C. Hensley and wife, Marie; one sister-in-law, Jackie Mae Hensley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Ray Hensley.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.
