James Wyatt (Jim) Hash, Sr., 74, of Promise Land Rd., Appomattox passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at his home.
Born in Elkton, Maryland, on January 12, 1940, he was a son of the late Gaye Eldreth and Dennis Lincoln Hash. He lived in New Jersey before relocating to Appomattox. Jim loved cars, guns, and being with his family and friends. He was a proud member of the NRA as well as the Hotrod Association of Roanoke.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean N. Hash; two children, Bessie Gaye Strunk of Smithfield, VA and James Wyatt Hash, Jr. of Otis, Oregon; one sister, Mary Ann Muehlbauer and husband, Charles of Flemington, NJ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken and Dot Hagans of Shinglehouse, PA, Butch and Pat Godown and Charlie and Carmella Godown of Lambertville, NJ; and two grandchildren, Bryan Cullen and wife, Heidi and Sammy Struck all of Smithfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Megan and the girls at Centra Hospice of Farmville for their care and concern.
In keeping with Jim wishes, in lieu of a funeral there will be a memorial service in the spring to commemorate his life.
