James E. Goodman
James Edward Goodman, 79, Went home to be with our Lord and Savior, on October 8, 2008, surrounded by his beloved wife of 57 years, Betty Lou, and daughters, Kristy, Dana and Olivia.
James served the Lord for over 40 years as a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Huber Heights, Ohio. He was born on May 4, 1929 in Portsmouth, Ohio and moved to Dayton, Ohio shortly after his marriage to Betty Lou in 1950. They resided in the Dayton area for over 56 years, spending 50 years on Mahler Drive in Huber Heights. James spent his entire working life with General Motors and retired after 43 years of service. James and his wife moved to the Appomattox, Va. area in 2007 to be closer to their children. He was an avid golfer who shot 3 hole-in-ones and a strong supporter of Ohio sports teams.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Goodman, and daughters Kristy A. Brooks of Appomattox, Va., Dana Jordan and husband Joseph, of Gainesville, Va., and Olivia Anton and husband Jay, of Lynchburg. He is also survived by brother Floyd Goodman and wife Wanda, of South Shore, Ky. He leaves behind grandchildren, J.J., James, and Hannah Anton, and twins Tate and Reese Jordan.
Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Robinson Funeral Home of Appomattox, Va ., 4:00 pm Saturday, October 11, 2008 by a beloved friend, Dr. Ron Mitchell, retired Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Huber Heights, with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery.
