James Riley "Jimmy" Davis, Jr., 71, of Pamplin, died Monday, November 13, 2023.  He was the loving husband of Margaret Richardson Davis.

Born in Altavista, August 15, 1952, he was the son of the late James Riley Davis, Sr., and Arlean Catherine Barbour Hamlett.  Jimmy retired from BWXT after 45 years of service.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, racing, fishing and camping.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Shannon Martin and husband, Kenneth, Jamie Davis and wife, Heather and Daniel Davis and wife, Amy; six grandchildren, Kurt Martin and wife, Taylor, Katy Martin, Maddox Davis, Colbie Davis, Camden Davis and Macy Davis; one sister, Pat Smith and husband, Odell and their son, Matthew Smith; stepfather, Wesley Hamlett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric Hernandez officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
