James "Jimmy" David Farmer, Jr. AKA "Poppy", 68, of Pamplin passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of Deborah "Debbie" Webber Farmer.

Born on October 8, 1956, in Richmond, Virginia he was the son of James David Farmer, Sr. and Gladys Norman Tuck. Jimmy was an active member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church where he served as Trustee. He retired from Greif Riverville Mill after 30 years of service.  He was a hard worker both at work and on the farm. He was generous volunteering at church, serving on the Cemetery Committee, and helping with the Food Pantry. He was a member of Monroe Masonic Lodge #301 AF & AM. Jimmy's positive attitude and infectious smile will be sorely missed. Go Packers!

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jody L. Farmer, James D. Farmer III, and wife, Candace, Julie D. Farmer, and Jason A. Farmer; nine grandchildren, Katelyn "KayKay", Zoe, Aiden, Abbie, Aislee, Lainee, Levi, Colton, and Ty; eight siblings, Judy Bailey, Janet Wilson, JoAnn Pasanen, Mike Farmer, Steve Farmer, Michelle Shrader, Keith Tuck, and David Farmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a beloved niece and nephew, Melissa Smith and Hunter Farmer.

A funeral service will be held 11 am, Friday July 18, 2025, at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A time of fellowship will follow the service in the church.
