James Edward Baxter II, was born on January 13, 1961 in Riverton, Wyo., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, James E. Baxter of Spout Spring, Va. and Betty L. Baxter of Midlothian, Va.; and his children, James E. Baxter III, Rachel N. Baxter and Jacob F. Baxter; and his mother, Kathleen King; and brothers, Richard D. Baxter of Gladstone, Va., John O. Baxter and Benjamin A. Baxter of Richmond, Va.
Jim graduated Appomattox County High School and continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he graduated summa cum laude in accounting. He received the Gold Medal for achieving the highest score in the State of Virginia on the 1983 Certified Public Accountants examination and also graduated first in the School of Business. Prior to co-founding Baxter Fentriss and Company, an investment banking firm in 1992, Jim was a Director in Crestar Financial Corporation's merger and acquisition division, and served as a senior auditor for Ernst and Young.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va., with an abbreviated prayer service at 3 p.m. Additionally, the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home, 667 Court St., Appomattox, Va., with an abbreviated prayer service at 3 p.m. A burial service will be held in Liberty Cemetery, Lee Grant Avenue, Appomattox.
