Jacqueline Davis (Jackie) Roberts, 79, of Village Highway, Concord, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Thomas Hunter Roberts.
Born in Lynchburg, on November 19, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Royal Wilbur Davis and Beulah Earl Woodson Davis. Jackie attended Concord High School, graduated from Southern Seminary, and received her BA from Mary Washington College. She was a retired Concord Postmaster and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Bonita Roberts of Concord and Mark and Kim Roberts of Gladys; three granddaughters, Colena Roberts of Blackstone, Rebecca Roberts and Caroline Roberts of Gladys; niece, Robin Moore Nystrom of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and special friend, Martha Carter.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Kitty Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Naruna by the Rev. Mitch Luckie and the Rev. Joey Giles. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today (Friday) from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and other times at the residence.
