Obituary
Jackson Delaware Doss, Sr., 76, of Church St., Appomattox, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Appomattox County, on August 10, 1935, he was a son of the late Abbitt Delaware (Dellie) Doss and Lucille Ferguson Doss. Jack was a retired carpenter and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Wanda Sue Doss of Hopewell,VA and Donna Lynn Doss of Ashland, KY; a son, Keith Alden Doss of Greenup, KY; two sisters, Loretta D. Layne of Appomattox and Frankie D. Hardwick of Lynchburg; and a sister-in-law, Faye M. Doss of Appomattox. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jackson Delaware Doss, Jr. and Jeffery Allen Doss and a brother, Abbitt Wayne Doss.
A private family memorial service will be held Friday, January 27, 2012, in Liberty Cemetery by the Rev. Russell Cheatham. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard.
