Jack Thomas Woods, 77, of Pumping Station Road, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Nancy Ferguson Woods for 57 years.

Born in Appomattox, October 6, 1940, he was a son of the late Bertha Irene Lee and Calvin Channey Woods. Jack was a member of Appomattox Baptist Temple where he served as a Trustee. He retired from Allen Morrison Signs. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jerry Woods and wife, Pam of Lynchburg, Troy Woods and wife, Tina and Marty Woods both of Appomattox; three brothers, Dewey Woods and wife, Ann, Gary Woods and wife, Donna, J.B. Woods and wife, Carolyn; one sister, Lois Kidd and husband, Jimmy; six grandchildren, Shane Woods, Shannah Woods, Kari Reynolds and husband, Stephen, Megan Bowden and husband, Brian, Ashley Woods, Amanda McCormick and husband, Todd; six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Skaggs; two brothers, Calvin C. Woods, Jr., and Emory M. Woods.

A memorial service will be held 1 pm., Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Appomattox Baptist Temple with Rev. Allen Gregory officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
