Jack Silby, Jr., 81, of Thornhill Lane, Gladstone died Wednesday, Friday, February 8, 2017, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband, Lorene Jones Silby for 56 years.

Born in Farmville, Va., on March 3, 1935, he was s son of the late Mattie Wood and Charles Robert Balston Silby. He was a member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church and retired from the Bee Line Taxi Service.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Lord and Tammy Gail Silby of Charlotte Court House. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Silby and Robert Silby and a sister, Mary Campbell.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Silby Family Cemetery, 427 Thornhill Lane, Gladstone.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
