Carey Judson, "Jack" Franklin, 80, of Little Bear Lane, Spout Spring died Friday September 19, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Margaret Keith, "Peggy" Franklin.

Born in Appomattox County August 13, 1934, he was a son of the late Abdullah and Ella Gobble Franklin. Jack was a member of Glory Baptist Church and a retired motor grader operator and truck driver for Virginia Dept. of Transportation.

Jack is survived by a Step-son, Roger Wills, and his wife June, of Appomattox, two step-daughters, Penny Marie Martin, and her husband Cary, of Winter Park, FL, and Rebecca Sue "Becky' Foster, of Concord; a brother, Clarence Franklin, and his wife Ruth, of Appomattox; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, A. B. Franklin, Jr., Benjamin, Thomas, Louis, and Alex Franklin.

A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 P.M., Thursday September 25, 2014, in Glory Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Brooks officiating.
