James Ronald (Ronnie) Guill, Sr., 71, of Confederate Blvd., Appomattox, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Geraldine (Gerry) Ayers Guill for 52 years.

Born in Appomattox County, on March 11, 1943, he was a son of the late LuVennie Reed and Warren Franklin Guill. He was a member of Bethel Bible Church, a member of Red Oak Hunt Club for 30 years where he had served as President, and a US Army Veteran. Ronnie was the owner and operator of Appomattox Home Improvement for over 30 years before his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Gerry, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Massie of Appomattox; two sons, James Ronald (Ron) Guill, Jr. and Todd Guill both of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Autumn Guill, Austin Guill, and Corey Massie; a brother, Eugene Guill and wife, Elaine of Appomattox; brothers-in-law, Bobby Ayers of Jacksonville, NC and Mike Ayers of Lynchburg; numerous nieces and nephews; his former daughter-in-law, Rhonda Guill; his former son-in-law, Russell Massie; and his beloved companion, Lucy the dog.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Bethel Bible Church by Pastor Orville Gregory and Pastor Darryl Martin. The family will receive friends at any time at the residence.
