Jessie Lyle Moore, 97, of Stonewall Road, Concord, died Monday, July 26, 2021, at his residence. Born on December 30, 1923, in Stonewall, Va.; he was the son of the late Nanny Walker Jennings and Jessie Melvin Moore.

Lyle will be remembered as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, farmer, cattleman, businessman, joker, entertainer, dancer, storyteller, and friend. Lyle loved his dogs like family.

He is survived by his longtime companion and dearest friend, Wanda Lawhorne; his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald "Ronnie" and Debra Moore of Concord; grandchildren, Amy E. Moore of Charleston, SC and Brandon Moore and wife, Samantha; great-granddaughter, Mia Moore all of Forest; three stepchildren, David Mills, Dale Mills, and Sharon Spears; a brother, Russell W. "Bunny" Moore of Appomattox; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Moore, Bethel Moore, and Pat Moore; and close friends, Tilda Callahan and Sherry Hager.

He was preceded in death four brothers, Frank Moore, Dallas Moore, Charlie Moore, and Bobby Moore and his sister, Helen M. Gaulden.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Dan Dibble and Re. James "Wimpy" Martin will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021, outside at his residence, 3650 Stonewall Road, Concord.  Please bring your own chair.
