James Cawthorne Jennings, 75, of Jennings Farm Lane, Prospect, died Saturday morning, April 16, 2011 in the Community Memorial Health Care Center, South Hill. He was the husband of Myrtle Hodnett Jennings.
Born in Lynchburg on November, 1, 1935, he was the son of the late George L. and Bradley Cawthorne Jennings. He was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a retired driver with J. S. Bryant Trucking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Brian Dale Jennings and his wife, Danette, Prospect and Carol Ann Casey and her husband, Thomas, Altavista; eight grandchildren, Keith, Kevin, Jessica, Ashley, Brittany, Kimberly, Tommy and Brandon and four great grandchildren, Alexis, John, Madysen and Payton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hannah.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in Hollywood Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert (Bob) Phillips, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until the time of the service.
