Iris Doss Austin, 92, of Ferguson Street, Appomattox, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021.  She was the wife of the late Joseph Austin.

Born in Lynchburg, November 17, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Edna Midkiff and Carrington Doss.  She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Howard Marshall Bucknam of Appomattox; one granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn Carerra and husband, Heirberto of Appomattox; two great-grandchildren, Marshall Cole Bucknam and Grayson Layne Carerra; step-daughter Mary Jane Gardiner; and step-grandson, Todd Gardiner.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Carrington Luther Doss; two sisters, Shirley Bucknam and Betty Rosser.
