Obituary
Irene Trent Martin, 85, of Appomattox, died Monday, July 21, 2008 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Herbert Ottway Martin.
Born in Appomattox County, March 23, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Henry (Buck) Trent and Bessie Walker Gilbert Trent. Irene was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Herbert Walker (Bunny) Martin and wife, Joy of Indianapolis, IN and Joel Alvin Martin of Tampa, FL; a brother, Joel Trent and wife, Ruth of Appomattox; a sister, Eloise T. Hanson of Pulaski and five grandchildren, David and Adam Martin, Billy and Angel Clements, and Kandy Clinard.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Alvin Trent and a sister, Virginia T. Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert E. Lee with burial following at Old Herman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Joel and Ruth Trent.
