Ida Francis Pierce Elliott, 88, of Plant Drive, Appomattox, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Appomattox Health and Rehab Center.

Born in Hurt, VA, on October 23, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Arthur Pierce and Pauline Moschler Pierce. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and retired from Thomasville Furniture.

Ida is survived by two daughters, Barbara Sheppard of Fayetteville, NC and Shelby Elliott of Virginia; a son, Michael W. Elliott of Gladys; a brother, Foster Lee (Jimmy) Pierce of Appomattox; ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Mark Villalobos of Frederick, MD, Greg Elliott of Concord, Lisa and Ryan Goodlette of Houston, TX, Brandy Paulette of Rustburg, Jason and Erin Elliott of Appomattox, Randall and Lynn Elliott of Appomattox, Britny and Chase Clark of Rustburg, Rachel, Dakota, and Skylar Elliott all of Gladys; three great granddaughters; eight great grandsons; a daughter-in-law, Rita Elliott; and special friends, John Varga, Jan Brock, Tom and Debbie Paulette, Ray Sheppard, Helen Pierce, Sarah Cheatham, and Barbara Bryant. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth W. Elliott and three brothers, Alvin, Paul, and James Pierce.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Bible Baptist Church by the Rev. Jonathan Watson. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Hurt at 4:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m., Sunday at the church and other times at the residence.
