Appomattox: Hubert Lester (Frog) Wilkerson, 84, of Oakville Rd., died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Appomattox County, June 7, 1922, he was a son of the late Clarence Elmo and Nannie Bingham Wilkerson. Mr. Wilkerson was a lifelong member of Red Oak Baptist Church, a founding member of Agee Hunt Club and a livestock dealer.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 59 years, Dorothy Martin Wilkerson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles L. and Susan Wilkerson and Dennis E. and Sherry Wilkerson all of Oakville; seven grandchildren, Charles L. Wilkerson Jr. and wife, Amy of Christiansburg, N. Matthew Wilkerson and wife, Tiffany of Appomattox, J. Seth Wilkerson of Appomattox and fiancée, Melissa Snoddy, Brian D. Wilkerson and wife, Wendy of Concord, Rodney S. Wilkerson and wife, Lori of Concord, Michael K. Wilkerson and wife, Sara of Gladstone, and Valarie W. and husband, Josh Harrison of Appomattox; five great grandchildren, Chris, Abby, Julianna and Holly Wilkerson and Camden Harrison; brother-in-law, Clyde Reynolds of Concord; sister-in-law, Josephine Wilkerson of Roanoke and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, John and Clarence Wilkerson and a sister, Huldah W. Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in Red Oak Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Barker and the Rev. George Kreidel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
