Horace Seay Doss, 75, Trents Mill Road, Appomattox, died Wednesday January 30, 2013 at Heritage Green Assisted Living. He was the husband of the late Annie Armstrong Doss.

Horace was born in Appomattox County, November 30, 1937 a son of the late Gwendolyn Smoot and Aubrey Lafayette Doss. He was a Mason and was retired from the U.S. Capitol Police.

Horace is survived by his children, P. Raleigh Werking and his wife, Trish of New Smyrna Beach, FL; William T. (Billy) Werking and his wife Anita of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Patricia (Pat) Moore and her husband, T.E. of Appomattox; two devoted granddaughters and great-grandchildren, Heather and Tim Cheatham and their children, Jackson and Parker; Felicia and Ben Mann and their children, Caleb, Abbey and Greyson; two sisters, Mable D. Smith and Peggy D. Watson: three brothers, Douglas O. Doss and his wife, Louise, Joe W. Doss and his wife, Ruth, Gene A. Doss and his wife, Helen all of Appomattox.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda L. Werking and seven brothers and sisters.

Graveside funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held at 11:00 A.M. , Monday, February 4, 2013 in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.

The family will receive friends today (Thursday) January 31 at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 P.M.
