Horace Ted Chandler, 73, of Liberty Chapel Road, died, Monday, April 18, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Rachel Coleman Chandler.
Born in Madison County, North Carolina, May 24, 1942, he was a son of the late Essie Holliefield and Dewey Bryan Chandler. Ted was retired from Pearson Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator and spent his time raising beef cattle after retirement.
He is survived by two sons, Tony Chandler and wife Tammy and Tim Chandler and wife, Laura all of Appomattox; a brother, Calvin Chandler and wife, Vonda; two sisters, Linda Hargrave and husband, Jerry, and Ruby Bass and husband, Quinton; seven grandchildren, Blake Chandler, Jared Chandler, Keaton Chandler, Riley Chandler, Jake Chandler, Brent Franklin and Briana Lee and Josh Franklin; two great-grandchildren, Brentlee Franklin and Avery Lee; a special friend and caregiver, Patricia Chandler.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Nunnley Family Cemtery, on Mini Ball Lane, Appomattox, VA, with Rev. Brad Childers officiating.
The family will receive friends at his home.
