Obituary

Hilda Jefferson (Tootsie) Paulette 89, of Hunter Street, Appomattox died Saturday October 24, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Hilda was born in Charlotte Co., Va. January 3, 1926 a daughter of the late Ola Bennett Jefferson and Faber Blaine Jefferson, Sr. Hilda was a graduate of Randolph Henry High School and Phillips Business College . She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Red House and was employed in the office of Appomattox Garment Co. for 26 years. After her retirement, she was the Apartment Manager for Lee-Grant Apartments for 15 years.

Hilda is survived by her five children, Dwight Minifee Paulette, Jr. and wife Lucy of Blacksburg, Valerie Paulette McCraw and husband, Henry of Forest, Kay Paulette Wrenn of Clifton Forge, Fay Paulette Selz and husband, Lannis of Spout Spring, and Bennett Wayne Paulette and wife, Gina of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Marian Jefferson Carter of Lynchburg; three brothers, Melvin Jefferson and wife, Lorena of Richmond, Faber Jefferson, Jr. of Richmond, Brantley Jefferson of Farmville; a sister in-law, Hilda Carter Jefferson of Lynchburg.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Jefferson Smith, a brother, Carey James Jefferson, and a son-in-law, Curtis Edward Wrenn.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Red House, officiated by Dr. Chris King.
