Obituary

Hilda Mae Casper, 79, of Hiley Terrace, Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 12, 2019. She was the devoted wife of Rev. Franklin Woodrow Casper, Sr. for 62 years.

Born in Naoma, WVA, June 9, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Launa Hendrix. Hilda was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for 20 years. She was a wonderful mother, who devoted most of her life to raising her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Frank W. Casper, Jr of Lynchburg, and Dave Casper of Forest; one daughter, Emily Casper-Brown of Lynchburg; one brother, Donald Ray Holmes; one sister, Elizabeth H. Pearsall and husband, Dave; four grandchildren, Wayne, Truitt, Cole, and Ella Mae; two great-grandchildren, Crosby, and Phoebe; son-in-law, R. Dale Brown; aunt, Betty Fuller; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Holmes, and Gene Holmes.

A graveside service will be held 12 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chad Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
