Herman Jasper Nash
Herman Jasper Nash, 83, of 7614 New Chapel Road, Spout Spring, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy Thompson
Nash.
Born October 29, 1923, he was a son of the late James Allen and Malissie Guthrie Nash. Mr. Nash attended New Concord Presbyterian Church, was a Carpenter, and was present at the Normandy Beach Invasion.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Herman Jasper Nash, Jr., and his wife Rhonda, of Julian, N.C.; a daughter, Betty Nash Boyte, of Spout Spring; a brother, James R. Nash, and his wife Doris, of Lebanon, IN.; two sisters, Shirley Nash Jones, and her husband, Steve, of Lynchburg; and Mildred Nash Wingfield, and her husband Ed, of Spout Spring; five grandchildren, Kevin R. Thayer, and his wife Cheryl, Patricia, "Trish", Turner, and her husband Chris, Teresa, "Terri", Carter, and her husband Mark, Kathy, "Kat", Shirley, and her husband, Sean, and Herman Jasper Nash, III; Eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, including a special devoted niece, Doris Booth Austin; a sister-in-law, Gayle Nash, of Appomattox; a brother-in-law; Russell Booth, of Concord, and an invaluable family friend, Charles, "Chuck", Wood.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Nash, and a sister, Alma Nash Booth.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday June 16, 2007, in Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. John D. Surbaugh, Jr. officiating, military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #104. Burial will follow in New Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Saturday from 12:00 Pm until 2:00 PM and other times at the home of his daughter, Betty Boyte at 698 Beeks Lane.
