Herbert Curtis Rader, 83, of Forest Chapel Rd., Pamplin, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Margaretha Buchinger Rader.
Born in Israel Township, Ohio, on January 27, 1931, he was a son of the late Alta Miller and Roscoe Rader. He was a retired Sergeant Major in the US Army serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Curtis Gerard Rader of Pamplin; a daughter, Ramona Virginia Wilson and husband, Dean of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Holly Wilson and Richard Wilson; a great-granddaughter, Heidi Wilson; one brother, Roscoe Rader, Jr. of Georgia and three sisters, Joyce, Sarah, and Becky of Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2014, in Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia by the Rev. David Sexton.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 4-6:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014.
