Henry Lewis Harper, 90, of Roanoke, died Friday, March 6, 2015, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was twice married; his first wife was the late Maxine Louise Mann Harper and his second wife the late Mary Crowder Harper.
Born in Charlotte County, Va., on February 24, 1925, he was a son of the late Lucy Ledbetter and Mebane Harper. He retired from Martin Chevrolet in Richmond.
Henry is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Craig and Patricia Harper, Robert Lewis and Bonita Harper all of Roanoke, and Randall (Randy) Smith Harper of Lumberton, TX; a sister, Mildred H. Moore of South Boston; a sister-in-law, Peggy Crump of Pamplin; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry R. Harper and Carroll S. Harper.
A graveside funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015, in Salem Baptist Church, 1725 Harvey Rd., Charlotte Court House, by the Rev. David Sexton. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Appomattox from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday.
