Pamplin: Helen Garrett Inge, 85, of Dabney Lane died Monday, October 15, 2007 in the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Toby Edward Inge.
Born in Appomattox County, April 23, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Clara Farmer and James Albert Garrett. Helen was a lifetime member of Rocks Baptist Church where she was active in many church affairs including choir member, WMU director, Deacon, Sunday school teacher. She was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two children, Audrey I. Almond and her husband, Spud of Pamplin and Phillip E. Inge and his partner Allen Hamblin of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Wyatt Almond and his wife, Tracy of Lynchburg and Andrea Almond of Hilton Head Island, SC; one great grandson, Toby Almond; a sister, Ethel G. St.John of Madison Heights; and a dear friend, Ralph Bowyer of Lynchburg.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Garrett and Nelson Garrett.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2007 in Rocks Baptist Church by the Rev. Wes Williams. Burial will follow in the Inge Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of Audrey and Spud Almond.
