Helen Juanita McCormick Gunter

Gladstone: Helen Juanita McCormick Gunter, 76, of 942 Red Bird Lane, died Wednesday November 8, 2006, in UVA Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Sammy Lynwood Gunter. Born June 25, 1930, Helen was a daughter of the late William Walker and Effie Jamerson McCormick.
Helen was a member of Maple Grove Pentecostal holiness Church and worked many years as a waitress at the YMCA in Gladstone.
Mrs. Gunter is survived by two sons, Walker Gunter, and his wife Sharon, of Winginia; Billy Gunter and his wife Peggy, of Gladstone; three daughters, Linda Mays, of Madison Heights; Beverely Burnley, of Winginia; Debbie Fielder, of Madison Heights; two brothers, Duvall McCormick and his wife Joyce, Floyd McCormick and his wife Joyce, both of Gladstone; a sister, Peggy Robertson and her husband Irving, of Winginia, 27 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Sylvia Cunningham, three sisters, Virginia Woody, Louise Honaker, Vera Cunningham and a brother Alton McCormick.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday November 11, 2006, in Maple Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Harold Powers and the Rev. Carroll Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Robinson Funeral Home Friday night and other times at her residence.
