Helen Moore "Huddie" Gaulden, 80, of Tallyho Rd., Concord, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in Hospice House of Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Albert "Bud" Kenley Gaulden.
Born in Appomattox County, on June 11, 1936, she is the daughter of the late Nannie Jennings and Jessie Melvin Moore. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Trinity Outreach Torch and was a retired trust officer for Crestar Bank. Helen was a God fearing Christian woman, firm in her faith until the end. She was a very considerate and loving mother, grandmother, and aunt and will be remembered for always putting others cares and concerns before her own.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenley Ray and Connie Gaulden; three grandchildren, Jackie Gaulden, Dani Gaulden and fiancé, Cory Hodges, and Will Gaulden; one great-grandson, Ethan; three brothers, J. Lyle Moore, Bobby E. Moore and wife, Pat all of Concord, and Russell W. Moore of Appomattox; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Moore of Appomattox and Bethel Moore of Disputanta; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Denise M. Guthrie and husband, Glenn. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie L. Moore, W. Frank Moore, and M. Dallas Moore.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Fort Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Larry Mann and the Rev. Tom Walker.
The family will receive friends at the home, 452 Tallyho Rd., Concord, on Thursday from 2 until 7 p.m.
